There are so many methods of being intentional about your leadership. Many people sign up for classes, read books, take e-courses, or even read blogs (why, hello there). Now, as much as I love all of these methods, I must say that listening to leadership podcasts is my favorite way to grow in my own leadership. Podcasts allow me to do my house work while also plugging into something that can refuel my mind and help me grow.
Someone once said, “Great leaders are made, not born.” I couldn’t agree with this more! Don’t get me wrong, I am a firm believer that every individual is born with unique gifts and talents, but true growth, in any area, can only come through being intentional.
Top 3 Leadership Podcasts for Christians:
Craig Groeschel is the senior pastor of the multi-site church, Life.Church, based out of Oklahoma City, OK. He’s been leading this church for over 20 years and is an incredible leader. I worked at this church as an intern for 7 months and got the pleasure of seeing the incredible culture they build not only for their volunteers, but also for their employees. In fact, Life.Church was voted number 8 Best Small to Medium Companies To Work For in 2017 on Glass Door. His leadership podcast is centered on areas from identifying your dark side of leadership to sharpening your communication skills and embracing change. If you haven’t already, subscribe now, you wont regret it!
This podcast focuses on topics such as parenting, marriage, and even spiritual disciplines. I’d definitely brand this as more of a family/lifestyle leadership podcast than I would corporate leadership. Every good leader needs to learn how to lead themselves before they can lead others, and this podcast helps me do that. It opens my heart and mind to refreshing perspectives on old subjects. Lisa and John travel the world to speak to followers of Christ and develop them in multiple seasons of life. If you are looking to develop your spiritual leadership, this is definitely the podcast for you.
I. Cant. Even. With this podcast. Chris Brown hosts incredible ministry leaders in almost every episode (Levi Lusko, Dave Ramsey, John Maxwell, Louie Giglio, etc.) Not only is it incredible to hear from all of these people in one leadership podcast but the topics never get boring. I mean, he even talks about how to “Fire Well.” If that doesn’t float your boat, maybe you can get behind “Ways to Create Margin” or how to “Grow Where You Are Planted.” This Podcast has seriously opened my eyes to so many new things, things I haven’t even had to deal with yet. (But at least I will be prepared when I do!)
